This workshop is for students and teachers who are seeking to deepen their knowledge and practice. This workshop can be used as continuing education, and also counts towards Yoga Baum’s 300-Hour Yoga Teacher Training.
In this workshop, trainees will learn how to guide students who are experiencing physical and emotional pain. There will be discussion and lecture on common causes of physical and emotional pain, as well as the science behind pain. Neuroscience, movement patterns, and trauma will all be topics of discussion. Trainees will learn how to navigate injuries in their classrooms through approaches that have been shown help students manage pain, by introducing new movement patterns and body awareness. Trainees will also learn how to offer modifications and options to students experiencing physical and emotional pain and will learn how to use language and demonstration in their classroom that is empowering, not limiting. You will have direct access to the teacher and be able to submit homework assignments and get feedback.

a 50-Minute Practice for Arthritis, Joint Pain, and Low Energy
a 50-Minute Trauma-Sensitive Yoga Practice Addressing Emotional Pain
a video outlining techniques to work with people in physical pain
a video outlining how trauma effects the nervous system and what we can do in yoga to support people working through their trauma
a pdf including homework assignments, resources, 3 written class plans, and a 3-day schedule for completing the workshop
