Frequently Asked Questions
Are you a new yoga student? Are you new to our studio? No worries! We're so exited you're here! We are happy to answer your questions. Check out these frequently asked questions before your visit.
What should I wear?
Something comfortable that allows you to move. You can wear what you would normally wear for exercise.
What do I need to bring?
Yourself and a water bottle! If you have a mat, you’re welcome to bring it, but we have mats as well as all the yoga props your heart could desire! You’re welcome to use our props.
Do I have to sign up for class ahead of time?
For In-Person Classes:
We recommend reserving your spot beforehand to ensure you have a spot, but, if you forget or don’t have time, no worries! You can also show up and we will typically have space.
For Virtual Classes:
Yes, you have to reserve your spot at least 20 minutes in advance for a virtual class in order to receive the Zoom link.
Is this a hot yoga class?
No. All of our classes are climate controlled to a normal room temperature range, and if the weather is nice, we open the windows :)
Do you have any yoga etiquette tips?
Sure! Leave your cell phone, shoes, and other personal items in the lobby. Be mindful of the other students who may be resting before or after class in savasana (corpse pose).
Where are you located?
317 Wallace Ave. Ste. 208 Louisville, KY 40207
Yoga Baum is in the heart of St. Matthews. We are located on the second floor of the Meridian Building. The door to the second floor is between Simply Thai and Lane & Edwards Violins (there is also a sign that says “Yoga Baum” at the top of the building above our entrance). Go up the stairs, turn left, and our lobby is the first door on the left. Please call us for elevator access.
Where can I park?
We have a parking lot in front and around the side of the building, and you can also park on the neighborhood side streets.
I am totally new to yoga. Which classes should I attend?
We LOVE having new students, and you’re welcome in ALL of our classes! Our teachers are experienced with beginners, so you can come to any class and you’ll be taken care of. All classes are different, however, so check the class descriptions so you know what to expect from that style of class. Feel free to contact us for more specific recommendations.
